The official website of the Library was revamped and relaunched on 19th March 2013. The official relaunching ceremony was conducted with participation of Deputy Vice Chancellor Professor Rahula Attalage and Librarian Mrs. Ruvini Kodikara.

The mission of the Learning Commons is to create a unique learning hub integrating technology, information and expertise in order to strengthen teaching, research and learning opportunities for UOM & ITUM students, faculty, and staff.

The library and its partner groups worked together to create a cohesive plan of action during the 2011-2012 academic year to recreate the floor plan of the library to accommodate the changes needed to enhance study and work space.
